Duval County Republican Party Unanimously Reelects Lenny Curry as Chairman

 

(JACKSONVILLE) Lenny Curry was reelected to serve as Chairman of Duval Republican Party at the organizational meeting of the Duval County Republican Executive Committee held last night on December 3, 2012.

 

Chairman Curry was unanimously reelected to a third two-year term before a standing-room-only crowd of REC members, elected officials and guests at the Wyndam Hotel. In his remarks, he thanked the crowd and spoke of the historic success the GOP enjoys in midterm elections and the importance of holding the Governor’s mansion, the Cabinet and the majorities in the State House and Senate.

 

Chairman Curry announced that he will now seek a second term as Chairman of the Republican Party of Florida as this local reelection also clears the path for his reelection as state chairman of the Party. According to the RPOF rules, all contenders for state chairman must be elected at the local level as a county chairman, state committeeman or state committeewoman.

 

The RPOF elections will be held in January at the Party’s Annual Meeting in Orlando.

“I am committed to the reelection of Governor Rick Scott, CFO Jeff Atwater, Attorney General Pam Bondi and Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam as well as ensuring our majorities in the Legislature,” Curry said.

 

Other officers elected for a two year term at the meeting were Michael Jackson as Vice Chairman,Kim Crenier Gibbons as Secretary and Kevin Hanley was reelected as Treasurer.
